This role is 37.5 hours a week

What is involved

To carry out all minor repairs and decoration detailed in the maintenance book and under the instructions of the home manager or deputy as detailed each day throughout the home and its grounds. This is to include routine planned preventative maintenance Also to carry out any works as directed by the facilities manager, director or responsible individual.

Carry out all health and safety checks required according to company and statutory regulations. These are to include all checks in the health and safety folder and the fire folder. The records are to be an accurate statement of the condition of the home and it is the sole responsibility of maintenance to carry out the checks.

Ensure the grounds of the relevant home are kept to a very high standard at all times when grounds maintenance is not available. This will include the mowing of the grassed areas, upkeep of the planting areas, borders and pots.

Carry out daily checks of the waste areas, to include waste segregation, tidiness of the compounds, making sure the lids are closed and the bins aren’t overflowing. Carry out cleaning of the waste bins on a quarterly basis by power washing them down, inside and out. External litter is to be picked up every morning prior to the main tasks of the day. Any discrepancies to the waste area are to be reported immediately to the home manager or their deputy.

Make sure that the storage areas relevant to the maintenance role inside and outside of the home are always clean and tidy and free from rubbish. All rubbish is to be removed on a daily/ weekly basis dependant on the type and material it contains.
