​Cwm Gwendraeth provides nursing care for 59 adults over the age of 18. We're in the beautiful Gwendraeth valley and offer modern, homely, and well-equipped environments to support those who call CG home. The facility is subdivided into smaller areas, including a coffee lounge, ample lounges, garden spaces, a craft room and an onsite Social club, called Canolfan, which houses a gym, Hydrotherapy pool, and a wonderful social space.

Our Care Assistants will progress through training to QCF 2 or up to QCF 5 and many undertake supervisory roles within the company. There is also plenty of support to gain skills in Positive Behaviour Support as well as manual handling.

The team includes Care Assistants, Advanced Practitioners trained in Manual Handling, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Positive Behavioural Management (PBM) and Fundamentals of Care. We also have Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) and access to a Consultant Psychiatrist, Neuro-Psychologist and assistant Psychologists. Our aim is to maintain and where possible, improve the overall independence levels of the people we support, through rehabilitation (if appropriate), stimulation and social integration so they enjoy a valuable quality of life.

Ty Cwm Gwendraeth

We have a fabulous purpose-built clubhouse called Canolfan. This includes a large multi-function room with a bar, separate hydrotherapy pool, gym, consultation/meeting rooms. You'll often find the team hosting special events, seasonal celebrations and theme days.

Ty Cwm Gwendraeth offers a range of essential and special interest training programs as well as opportunities for gaining additional knowledge and skills. There are pathways for professional development and progression in a culture of continued learning. We have our own in-house training team as well as using e-learning platforms, in addition to our joint working with RCN Wales and other external providers.

Roles here include the care team, drivers, qualified chefs and supporting kitchen team, a domestic team, a maintenance team and administrators. We also have a team of Fieldbay BS Advanced Practitioners, OT Advanced Practitioners, SALT, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Consultant and Clinical Psychiatrist and a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
